Michael BishopMichael Bishop led the 1998 Kansas State Wildcats to the second-best season in school history with a 10-1 record. He set the school record for both passing yards and touchdowns, throwing for 2,844 yards and 23 touchdowns with just four interceptions in addition to rushing for 748 yards and 14 touchdowns. Throughout his two years at Kansas State, Bishop maintained a 22-3 record and started in all of his 25 games. In addition to winning The O’Brien, Bishop was a finalist for the Heisman Memorial Trophy, Maxwell and Johnny Unitas awards. At the completion of his senior year, he finished second in the voting for the Associated Press National Player of the Year. Bishop was a first-team All-America pick by Football News and Sporting News and was also a first-team All-Big 12 pick. He was drafted by the New England Patriots in the 1999 NFL draft. He has since played in the NFL Europe for the Frankfurt Galaxy and in the CFL for both the Toronto Argonauts and the Saskatchewan Roughriders before signing with the Winnepeg Blue Bombers in 2009.
